Marlon Waters, President and Owner
Marlon started the business in 1969. From the beginning he has been active in the
business on a day to day basis. His construction experience includes contract
hauling, dirt work, underground utilities, base and pave, concrete structures, curb
and gutter, demolition, and pit materials production (sand, gravel, and crushed
aggregates). Prior to starting the business Marlon was employed by 3M at the
Decatur, Alabama plant. Marlon was born in 1945.
H. Lynn Doshier, VP of Finance and Administration
Lynn joined the company in 2001 and is responsible for all administrative functions of
the company including Accounting, Finance, IT and Human Resources. He holds a
BS in Accounting and two professional certifications: CMA -“Certified Management
Accountant” and CFM -“Certified Financial Manager” and is a member of the Institute
of Management Accountants. His experience includes both the construction and
manufacturing industries. Past employers include BE&K, Inc of Birmingham, AL,
Matthews Industries Inc. of Decatur, AL and Intergraph Corporation of Huntsville, AL.
Lynn was born in 1949.
Ken Butler, Estimator / Project Manager
Ken joined the company in 2005 and is responsible for estimating and project
management. Ken holds a degree from the University of Alabama in Construction
Management. He actively uses AGTEK site and grade management software,
AutoCad and HardDollar estimating software. His construction experience includes
the estimating and project management of dirt work, underground utilities, base and
pave, concrete work, demolition and building construction. Past employers include
Johnson Contractors, Inc. of Sheffield, Alabama, Beavers Construction Co. of
Sheffield, Alabama, Forsythe and Long Engineering of Florence, Alabama, and
Butler Construction Company of Sheffield, Alabama. Ken was born in 1964.
Bryant Flannigan, General Superintendent
Bryant joined the company in 1988 and is the General Superintendent for the
company. His entire career has been in the construction industry and his experience
includes hauling, dirt work, underground utilities, base and pave, concrete work and
demolition. Past employers include Holland and Woodard Construction Company of
Decatur, Alabama. Bryant is a certified welder. He was born in 1968.
Scottie Ray, Project Superintendent
Scottie joined the company in 1999 and is a Project Superintendent. He has twenty
plus years experience in the construction industry and his experience includes
hauling, dirt work, underground utilities, base and pave, concrete work and
demolition. Past employers include Brown and Root Construction Co, of Houston,
Texas, Ernest Slaten Construction Co of Decatur, Alabama and Rust Construction
Co. of Decatur, Alabama. Scottie is a certified heavy equipment operator and a
certified auto mechanic. Scottie was born in 1968.
Richard Radcliff, Project Superintendent
Richard joined the company in 1998 and is a Project Superintendent. In the past he
supervised our Concrete Division. He is certified by the American Concrete Institute.
Richard has twenty plus years experience in the construction industry and his
experience includes hauling, dirt work, underground utilities, base and pave,
concrete structures, curb and gutter, and demolition. Past employers include Good
Hope Contracting of Cullman, Alabama and Birmingham Excavating of Birmingham,
Alabama. Richard was born in 1966.
Ashley Alexander, Project Superintendent
Ashley joined the company in 2003 and is a Project Superintendent. He is a certified
welder and holds a State FFA degree and a Class B Commercial Drivers License.
His construction experience includes hauling, dirt work, underground utilities, base
and pave, concrete work and demolition. His past employers include the Lawrence
County Road Department of Moulton, Alabama, and T & T Contractors of Hillsboro,
Alabama. He was self employed as a dirt work contractor for three years just prior to
being employed by Waters Brothers. Ashley was born in 1978.
McCord Compton, Project Superintendent
McCord joined the company in 2006 and is a Project Superintendent. His
construction experience includes hauling, dirt work, underground utilities, base and
pave, concrete work and demolition. His past employers include Diakin America of
Decatur, Alabama where he was an Instrument Technician. He was self employed as
a hauling and dirt work contractor for several years just prior to being employed by
Waters Brothers. He holds a Class B Commercial Drivers License. McCord was
born in 1975
David R. Binkley, Personnel Manager & Safety Director
David joined the company in 1996 and is responsible for personnel matters, safety
and DOT compliance. David is an “OSHA 10 Hour Instructor”, Mine Health and
Safety Instructor, Instructor in First Aid, CPR and AED, Certified Trainer in Lock-Out
Tag-Out, Instructor in Confined Space Entry and Work Zone Safety Instructor. David
has completed the Supervisor Developmental Program with the National Safety
Council and is a former law enforcement officer and emergency medical technician.
David was born in 1961.
